Motor Supply Company Bistro has been serving fresh, local and diverse dishes in the heart of the historic Congaree Vista since 1989. Our menu changes daily for lunch and dinner, offering diners something new and delicious every time they come through the door. We offer an eclectic blend of contemporary American, French, Italian and Asian cuisine, with everything either provided from local farms or house-made, such as stocks and sauces, desserts, charcuterie and house-butchered and smoked meats.
TBJ's take: Brother Eddie is a little partial to this place, his restaurant of 27 years.
Sam's Quik Shop Our mission at Sam’s Quik Shop is to educate the public about craft beer and provide the best selection possible. We wish to inform our customers about different beer styles, abv, food pairings, and recommendations based on what you’ve tried and liked.
TBJ's take: A Durham institution, with a have-to-see-to-believe selection of beers and a knowledgeable and dedicated staff.

The Glass Jug is a retail craft beer store with a great selection of local and craft beer, featuring 16 rotating taps with an emphasis on seasonal brews, one-off special releases, and new collaborations with local breweries, in addition to all of your favorite craft beers, specialty wine, and cider.

TBJ's take: A comfortable, friendly and innovative Southwest Durham gem, perfectly suited for an after- work or weekend beer with friends. Craft beer, wines, cider; The Glass Jug always has you covered.

Sam's Bottle Shop is surely one the most well stocked craft beer bottle shops in the country. Once you walk through the doors you’ll know that you’ve found yourself in a malt and hops wonderland that will be hard to leave! Our title of largest beer selection in North Carolina is only shared with our predecessor Sam’s Quik Shop. With 1,600 different beers available at two locations Durham will never run dry!

TBJ's take: The latest venture from the folks at Sam's Quik Shop, Sam's Bottle Shop offers the southern side of Durham endless rows of coolers, 28 taps, cider, wine, and mead. Another home run from the guys at Sam's.

Bond Brothers is a NC craft brewery and taproom, located in the heart of downtown Cary, NC, dedicated to producing high-quality ales and sours. Twin brothers Jay and Jeremy Bond have created a spacious brewery and taproom, as well as an outdoor beer garden, where there is room for all beer lovers!

TBJ's take: Absolutely love this place! Fantastic outdoor setting in a cool downtown, friendly bartenders and some of the best beer we've had in a long time! Plus, partnering with another pair of entrepreneurial brothers is a natural for TBJ.

Fullsteam Brewery makes it their mission to create distinctly Southern beer that celebrates the culinary and agricultural traditions of the South. They succeed, with a taproom that is kid and dog friendly, great outdoor seating, and a stage that frequently hosts great local music.

TBJ's take: One of the first, and still one of the best, Fullsteam is a brewery with something for everyone. Take the kids, your dog, your ping-pong paddle, its always a fun scene in a vibrant part of the Bull City.

Cotton Mill Exchange has explored every corner of the state to bring you the best of South Carolina. The Cotton Mill Exchange offers a surprising array of unique items from beautiful linens, and jewelry to decorative items for your home or office, gourmet food and more. The newly renovated 4,000 square foot museum store features a spectacular range of unique gifts and food products representing the Palmetto State.

TBJ's take:This Columbia "must visit” attraction includes a beautiful store full of artisan S.C. products, clothing and books.

Fusco's Market (Columbia, S.C.) is your hometown spot for homemade sandwiches, salads and casseroles as well as for fine wines and delicious desserts. At Fusco’s, our goal is to provide the solution for your meal whether it is tonight’s dinner or tomorrow’s staff luncheon. We strive to provide outstanding customer service from the staff and through the array of high quality products.

TBJ's take: The kind of market you’ve always wanted near your home and now it’s here! The take home meals are convenient and so delicious. And don’t miss the house smoked wings.

Bulldega Urban Market is a family owned and operated grocery store serving Durham's vibrant downtown community with locally produced and artisan goods, humanely raised meat, unique products, and everyday necessities. They value Durham's commitment to locally produced goods and the farmers and families who produce them.

TBJ's take: It doesn't matter if you don't live downtown: take the train, take a bus, hitchhike, you have to come see Jay, Carly, Sean and the gang at Bulldega. If you live downtown, even better: saunter, pedal or moonwalk into the best little grocery store in town. TBJ got a hot tip about this place, stopped in, and knew we had to be a part of this great business and their mission.

Crave Artisan Specialty Market is passionate about local foods and is committed to offering you the best shopping experience.The Crave Market is a local business in Columbia, SC, offering a variety of local, artisan, small-batch foods. They have local honey, fresh produce, milk, eggs, BBQ sauces, jams and so much more!

TBJ's take: John and his staff at Crave make shopping for local products an interactive experience. There are samples of different products every day, fun Facebook contests and innovative promotions like their “12 days of Christmas in July sale”.

The Hub and Pisgah Tavern is located in Brevard, NC at the entrance to Pisgah National Forest and stands by their motto "BIKES.OUTDOOR GEAR. BEER." The Pisgah Tavern offers a rotating menu of 6 beers on tap and countless canned offerings. Whether you just got done with a ride or hike or maybe you just need to get some bike work done; come by, grab a beer and share your adventures.

TBJ's take: Brevard is a great little mountain town and The Hub and Pisgah Tavern embodies the best of this town's spirit. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about biking the local trails. And there's nothing better after a day on the parkway than cold beer on their patio.

Durty Bull is found in downtown Durham and uses old-world brewing techniques to bring you barrel-aged and sour beers as well as many other unconventional brews.

TBJ's take: Durty Bull is new, they are enthusiastic, and they make fantastic, unique beer. These guys started out as high school buddies and their friendship and love of good beer led them to start business together. TBJ always loves these stories. 
Rockwood Barbershop- Pat Cooney has been providing men and boys barbering services since 2005. He opened Rockwood Barbershop in 2010 to provide a true barbershop experience within the Durham, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh Area.

TBJ's take: This is our first barber shop, but Pat is a fantastic barber, a big fan of the jerky, and knows his customers are going to love TBJ. Old style barbershops are coming back and Pat has been at the forefront in Durham.

Hendersonville Visitor’s Center- Look closely into the mountains of North Carolina and you'll discover a place unlike any other. Hendersonville calls us all to get up, seek out and explore new experiences. Find yourself hiking through the DuPont State Recreational Forest or touring the Sierra Nevada Brewery. Be moved. Because that's what happens in Hendersonville.

TBJ's take: A visit to this cool mountain town gets off to a great start if your first stop is the Hendersonville Visitor's Center. The staff and volunteers are great and the center is full of useful information and great local products.

Hickory Nut Gap Farm is a serene 90 acres nestled in Fairview, NC. The land itself has been farmed by owner Jamie Ager’s family since 1916. Jamie and his wife Amy have been raising beef cattle, pigs, poultry, and apples at Hickory Nut Gap since 2000. Hickory Nut Gap Farm is more than a collection of pastures. It’s a gathering place for neighbors, visitors, and families — spend time picking berries, frolic in the creek, and get a firsthand view of a local food system and the animals we raise. The Farm Store offers fantastic sandwiches, all the great products of the farm, and other local sauces, sodas and pickled vegetables.

TBJ's take: Paul's kids loved this place when the family would spend summers in near by Bat Cave, North Carolina. Everything came full circle when we began partnering with Hickory Nut Gap Farms for their delicious grass fed beef. We never leave the farm store without steaks for dinner, a cool T-shirt, or some delicious local cheese.

Beer Study & Starpoint Brewing has a new Durham location and we’re excited to be a part of it! They have teamed up with Starpoint, a Carrboro-based brewery, and have them brewing in the back. Combined with the event space and arcade games in the backroom, this is the perfect bottle shop/brewery taproom!

TBJ’s take: This cool combo business is located in a shopping center which is only a block from Paul’s grandmother’s old house in the Forrest Hills neighborhood. Paul can still remember going with her to the Big Star grocery store when he would visit as a child. Now you can grab a beer in that same location and you can even bring your dog!

...And Beer Study in Chapel Hill now carries TBJ as well! Conveniently located downtown Chapel Hill and only a few streets over from Carrboro, they are proud to be known as Chapel Hill's first bottle shop with in-store drafts and seating.

TBJ's take: TBJ welcomes it's first foray into Chapel Hill, where Paul spent his college days. Love the town and love this fun little bottle shop!

The Classy Cruet offers customers the opportunity to experience some of the finest, award-winning 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oils, both whole fruit- and herb-fused olive oils, and traditional balsamic vinegars from select artisans around the world!

TBJ's take: We love being in this great specialty store. Their olive oils and vinegars are amazing! We are also excited that all of our Lexington TBJ fans now have a local place to pick up some grass-fed jerky.

Rosewood Market and Deli is truly a community supported business, part of many peoples’ lives and a great influence to the eating habits and healthy lifestyles of Columbia, South Carolina residents and the many who pass through. They take pride in their commitment to the environment and strive to minimize their impact on the waste stream.

TBJ's take: Having originated in the early 1970's, Rosewood Market and Deli is a true pioneer of health food markets. TBJ loves that Rosewood continues to make environmental awareness a priority.

Bottle Revolution is locally owned and operated and centrally positioned between Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. This one-stop bottle shop offers a great variety of craft beer, cider, mead, and wine, has 12 constantly rotating taps, and has a welcoming tasting room located at the back of the store.

TBJ's take: Bottle Rev-RDU owners, Nick and Jason, have a truly revolutionary proposal for you: Tasty craft beers smack in the middle of Research Triangle Park... ¡Viva la Revolution!

Greenville Jerky and Vine is a family-owned business that takes pride in finding delicious top-quality food products with a focus on jerky, wine and local fare. They have a growing collection of nitrate free jerky products, divine local wines, scrumptious chocolates, fiery hot sauces, un-bee-lievably tasty local honey, barbeque sauces, chow chows, relishes, preserves, jams, jellies and so much more!

TBJ's take: Our 1st location in Greenville. Located on Main St. in the heart of the vibrant bustling downtown, it's the only store where you can find the largest variety of independent jerky choices from around the country.

Craft And Draft is Columbia's premier craft beer store and growler shop! Sample a beer or drink a few pints from one of their twelve taps that continually feature premier craft beers from all over the country, as well as local favorites from The Carolinas!

TBJ's take: There's always a great crowd in C&D who are ready to talk and taste great beer. Check out their rotating chalk board tap menu, full of new interesting, delicious choices.

Reid's Fine Foods is Charlotte's original hometown specialty food store providing superior meats, wines, regional provisions, locally grown produce and seasonally fresh meals & gift baskets to a very loyal customer base.

TBJ's take: We are thrilled to be carried in Reid's and to be in the Charlotte area. When visiting order a gourmet sandwich, browse their giant selection of meats, cheeses and desserts, then enjoy your bounty in their comfortable dining area.

Wood's Market & Garden of Aiken, South Carolina is an outlet for both local farmers and artist. Farmers bring in items such as free-range eggs, raw milk, goat cheese, goat fudge, grass-fed beef, organic Cornish hens, honey and other jarred goods and various, fresh produce.

TBJ's take: Aiken's only location for TBJ. This fresh air market continues to grow and provide local natural foods and products in a fun garden setting.

The Vino Garage is a neighborhood wine and beer shop that services the Cottontown-North Main area of the city. They carry a unique selection of wines and beers that can't be found in big box stores and they also have a growler station.

TBJ's take: It's a favorite of wine and beer reps. Doug and his staff take pride in connecting with their neighbors, with a schedule full of craft beer and unique wine tastings.

Raleigh Provisions is Raleigh's downtown neighborhood market that focuses on locally grown, raised, baked and produced foods.This corner shop offers fresh bread, milk, meat and pantry items--all from North Carolina--including beer and wine.

TBJ's take: Proprietor Kim Hammer had a fantastic idea: a friendly, welcoming store with fresh local food products right smack in the middle of Raleigh. Dare you to get out of there without at least one small bag of deliciousness in your hands and a smile on your face. For us at TBJ, when we stopped by, it was local spicy pickles and honey from less than a mile away.

Sunrift Adventures is located in a historic cotton gin in downtown Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Travelers Rest is your gateway to the mountains and lakes of Upstate South Carolina and beyond. Avoid the congestion of big-box shopping areas, find expert local advice and cutting-edge equipment at this unique outdoor shop.

TBJ's take: Eddie and his family stops here ever year when taking the kids to Camp Greenville on Caesars Head Mountain. Their staff is super friendly and they have a huge selection of everything outdoors. Check out all their great neighboring local shops and restaurants too.

Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery of Greenville, South Carolina is a full of local foods and artisan products, carrying everything from greens and meats to soaps and deodorant. Located on the Swamp Rabbit Bike Trail, the cafe and bakery is a hub for local biking and outdoor enthusiasts.

TBJ's take: Don't leave without trying one of their scones! You can't beat the laid back atmosphere of this brick former meat packing facility. Perfect for a delicious lunch and then take home local foods for dinner later.

CLT Find is brand spanking new and located in the fabulous 7th Street Public Market in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. Three friends have joined forces to open this unique gift and goodies boutique with a Charlotte and N.C. theme. CLT Find and the market are a destination shopping and dining experience.

TBJ's take: The market experience here reminds us of GothamWest Market in NYC. Toni, Christy and Britt work hard to bring fashionable local products to this fun shop.

Haw River Farmhouse Ales is located right smack dab in the middle of Saxapahaw, North Carolina and stocked with a great variety of their own unique beers. Their brews are steeped in Belgian tradition, but elevated by local creativity through the usage of fresh, local ingredients from around the community, and their own yeast harvested right in Saxapahaw.

TBJ's take: We absolutely love everything about Saxapahaw from their general store, and ballroom, to the Saturday farmers market, and of course the gorgeous scenery of the Haw River. The Haw River Farmhouse Ales adds perfectly to the character of this town as owners, Ben and Dawnya, have brought together tradition and southern hospitality in the best way! Be sure to make your way out there and enjoy their local, hand crafted beers on their patio, which stays open year-round!

Joymongers Brewing Company is owned and operated by Greensboro natives and is the go-to neighborhood gathering spot. They are all about small batch brewing, which enables them to provide you with up to 17 of their finely crafted brews. They are not interested in packaging or distributing, and don’t aspire to get big and be bought out by national giants. They only want to provide the community with the freshest, most interesting variety of beers every day.

TBJ's take: We love the small family business style that Joymongers offers the town of Greensboro. It is they perfect chance to experiment with their cutting edge styles of beer, and we of course love that they welcome the four-legged members of the family!

Bull City Ciderworks ciders are made with 100% apple juice and never back-sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, so you taste the apple in all its glory! Gluten-free yeast and ingredients ensure a naturally gluten-free cider... They're crafting unique ciders that bridge the gap between wine and beer!

TBJ's take: Bull City Ciderworks new location is one of the coolest, fastest growing spots in downtown Durham. And if you think you know cider, let these folks show you just how interesting and amazing apple cider can really be!

Full Spectrum Brewing is located in Fort Mill, South Carolina and they aim simply to craft great beers for great people. Their promise to you is to brew a beer for everyone on the spectrum- whether you like dark or pale, hoppy or sweet, heavy or light, they’ve got a great beer for you.

TBJ's take: Located right off I-77 below Carowinds, Full Spectrum has a super fun tap room and view of their impressive brewing operation. The residents of Fort Mill Rock Hill and Tega Cay are lucky and proud to have such great hometown beer.

Bottle 501 is a locally-owned neighborhood bar and bottle shop featuring an extensive retail selection of craft beer and wine with 16 rotating taps, a self-service Wine Station and daily beer and wine specials.

TBJ's take: Come upstairs to this cozy and well stocked little bottle shop. One of my favorite times there: a super rainy Thursday afternoon, some tasty sours, and good conversation about old-time rock and roll with their extremely personable staff. Their versatile atmosphere makes Bottle 501 the perfect place to unexpectedly stumble upon your "best day ever"!

The Butcher's Market of Cary is brought to the triangle area by a father/son team who's focus is to sell quality products at a fair price, and to deliver them with unmatched hospitality in a convenient and fun shopping environment! This is certainly a go to butcher shop for premium meats and specialty grocery.

TBJ's take: We can't walk in this store and see the amazing selection of top quality meat without wanting to fire up the grill! Throw in a super friendly staff and this is a store you wont walk out of without a bag full of some seriously good eats!

NOFO @ the Pig is a combination cafe, food market, and gift shop located in the historic Five Points Business District in Raleigh, North Carolina. NOFO's focus is on all things North Carolina and the South. It promotes "Love Living Local" with a wealth of carefully chosen products to eat, drink, wear, read, listen to, use, and enjoy from Tarheel and Southern food artisans, entrepreneurs, designers, farmers, craftsmen, musicians, and artists.

TBJ's take: TBJ got an extra special welcome the staff at NOFO and the folks from the surrounding Five Points neighborhood. A great cafe and a gift shop, Paul was able to pick up Mother's Day gitfs and was treated to some of the most delicious shrimp and grits he's ever tasted. Check this place out! 

Mast General Store of Columbia, South Carolina offers a variety of goods from fashion to fried chicken cookbooks and toffee to tents. As ambassadors, the staff are willing and excited to share some of their favorite places to hike, enjoy a meal, or catch some live music.

TBJ's take: There is a certain atmosphere and local "Carolina born" quality of retailer we look to partner with and Mast General Store epitomizes this. From the candy supply and the unique food selection, to the camping gear and the told time toys, you'll have a hard time leaving this general store empty handed

The Village Butcher & Market of New Bern has been providing fresh, local, homemade selections for over 25 years. They have a wide selection of quality meat and seafood and offer a large assortment of North Carolina-made products including honey, relishes and jams, pickles, peanuts, dry rubs and delicious herbs. Their deli features select deli meats and cheeses, and they have fresh and frozen prepared meals available for your convenience.

TBJ's take: TBJ is excited to be moving eastward to this awesome New Bern location! The Village Butcher & Market is your one-stop-shop for any and all things food related. Whether you're grabbing a deli sandwich on your lunch break, stocking up on fresh cut meat, or in search of something to take home for dinner, you'll be sure to leave here nothing short of satisfied!

Provisions Waxhaw is a local, family owned business located on Waxhaw's historic Main Street. Provisions offers fresh breakfast and lunch cooked to order 7 days a week, and sells goods that are made or grown by local farmers and producers such as dairy, eggs, meats and bakery items. 

TBJ's take: So you know another thing that's great about North Carolina's exciting and diverse big cities? They are often in close proximity to the coolest little small towns. On the outskirts of the Queen City, Waxhaw is a vibrant little town that supports fun businesses like Provisions Waxhaw! Get your local food on at this Waxhaw mainstay. 

The Gorge, America's steepest and fastest zipline canopy tour, offers a thrilling tree-based aerial adventure in Saluda, North Carolina. Beginning perched on the rim of the Green River Gorge, you descend an unprecedented 1,100 vertical feet in elevation zipping from tree-top to tree-top on 11 ziplines, traversing a sky-bridge, and descending 3 huge rappels, all through stunning old growth protected Green River Game Lands. 

TBJ's take: Paul's family has been doing this great zipline for years so the whole crew was excited when we got the chance to partner up with Sara and Tim at the Gorge Zipline. One added bonus if you are a nature lover, the guides at the Gorge are knowledgeable about all of the flora and fauna in Western North Carolina. This is an experience you don't want to miss! 

Gingham & Posh was founded in 2006, in Raleigh, North Carolina, and offers stylish gift baskets, perfect for any occasion. Their baskets are made each day, per order, and never produced in mass quantity. Each treat has been sampled and approved by the staff at G&P. They pride themselves in using the most delicious cookies, candies, chocolates, crackers, chips, nuts, jams, wines, and as of late, fresh TBJ! 

TBJ take: We love the unique personal touch that goes into every basket over at Gingham & Posh. The staff is extremely friendly and excited about all of the cool treats available for pulling off the gift basket of a lifetime! This is surely a stop you want to make for your next gift-giving occasion.
